The Hague Justice Dialogues 2026: International Voices Gather for Justice, Peace and Human Dignity
The Hague, October 2026 — At a time when war, geopolitical tensions and growing divisions are placing international law, human rights and diplomacy under increasing pressure, a carefully selected group of voices will gather in The Hague for a different kind of conversation.
On 14–15 October 2026, the International Criminal Law Foundation (S.I.S.) will convene The Hague Justice Dialogues 2026 at Hilton The Hague, bringing together distinguished representatives and experts from the worlds of diplomacy, international law, human rights, journalism, academia, conflict resolution and civil society.
At the centre of the gathering is a simple but increasingly urgent question:
How can justice, peace and human dignity be protected in a world becoming more divided?
Different Perspectives. One Table.
The Hague Justice Dialogues is built on the conviction that meaningful international dialogue requires more than agreement.
Participants come from different countries, professions and experiences. They may approach conflict, justice, security, diplomacy and human rights from very different perspectives.
That is precisely why bringing them together matters.
The Dialogues create an independent and non-partisan space where difficult questions can be addressed seriously and respectfully — not through slogans, but through experience, legal expertise, diplomacy, research and the voices of people affected by conflict.
Different perspectives do not have to become identical. But they must be able to meet, listen and engage.
From Institutions to the Human Consequences of Conflict
Behind every discussion about war, international law or geopolitical strategy are human lives.
Families lose their homes. Communities live with insecurity. Victims wait for recognition and justice. Diplomats face difficult choices. Lawyers confront the limits and possibilities of international law. Journalists carry stories across borders. Human rights advocates work to ensure that those most affected are not forgotten.
The Hague Justice Dialogues seeks to bring these worlds into the same room.
Under the theme Justice • Peace • Human Dignity, the 2026 gathering will explore the relationship between international law, diplomacy, security, accountability, human rights and the human consequences of conflict.
Its guiding principle remains:
“The Voice of War Victims is the Shared Responsibility of Humanity.”
A Carefully Curated, Invitation-Only Gathering
The Hague Justice Dialogues 2026 is not a public conference.
Participation is strictly by invitation, and attendance is limited. Guests are selected and invited by the International Criminal Law Foundation in order to preserve the character of the Dialogues: a focused environment in which meaningful and substantive exchanges can take place.
There will therefore be no general public admission or open registration.
This deliberately limited format allows diplomats, legal experts, journalists, researchers, human rights advocates and other invited participants to engage directly with one another in an atmosphere designed for serious conversation rather than a conventional large-scale conference.
The Hague: A Place for Difficult Conversations
There are few places more fitting for such a gathering than The Hague, a city internationally associated with peace, justice and international law.
The programme begins on 14 October with an opening dinner, bringing invited participants together ahead of the main discussions.
On 15 October, the Dialogues continue with a full programme of international discussions, including the Diplomatic Forum, where diplomacy, international law and global cooperation will take centre stage.
But the ambition of the gathering goes beyond individual sessions.
It is about creating a table around which people with different experiences can meet — and where the human consequences of the decisions made in courtrooms, ministries, diplomatic missions and conflict zones are never allowed to disappear from view.
Because justice begins by listening.
Peace requires dialogue.
And human dignity must remain at the centre of both.
