Complaints Procedure

The International Criminal Law Foundation values diligence, transparency, respectful communication, and social responsibility. Individuals or organizations that have a complaint regarding the Foundation’s working methods, communication, publications, or activities may submit a complaint in writing.

Submitting Complaints
Complaints should initially be submitted in writing via:

  • the contact form on this website; or
  • by email at: klachten@stichtingis.com

When submitting a complaint, please provide:

  • your name and contact information;
  • a clear description of the complaint;
  • relevant documentation or explanation;
  • and any additional information that may be necessary for a thorough assessment.

The foundation reserves the right to request additional information before processing a complaint.
 

Internal Review

Upon receipt, the complaint will be carefully reviewed internally within the framework of:

  • applicable laws and regulations;
  • social responsibility;
  • objectivity;
  • proportionality;
  • and the foundation’s objectives.

The foundation strives to handle complaints within a reasonable timeframe, but cannot guarantee a fixed processing or response time.

Not an official legal procedure

The complaints procedure of the International Criminal Law Foundation concerns exclusively an internal social and organizational complaints procedure and does not constitute:

  • judicial proceedings;
  • arbitration;
  • binding advice;
  • acknowledgment of liability;
  • or official legal dispute resolution.

Filing a complaint does not create an obligation for the foundation to:

  • compensation;
  • financial compensation;
  • removal of information;
  • substantive changes;
  • or any legally binding action.

External options
If a complainant believes that a complaint has not been handled satisfactorily, the person concerned is free to contact:

  • a legal advisor;
  • a lawyer;
  • a regulatory body;
  • competent authority;
  • or the competent court in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Confidentiality

Complaints received and related information will be treated confidentially to the extent reasonably possible within the limits of applicable laws and regulations, organizational capabilities, and necessary internal review.

Refusal or Termination of Processing
The International Criminal Law Foundation reserves the right not to process complaints, to suspend processing, or to terminate further processing if, in the Foundation’s opinion, there is:

  • abuse of the complaints procedure;
  • manifestly unfounded or repeated complaints;
  • threats or intimidation;
  • discriminatory, hateful, or inflammatory content;
  • deliberately false or misleading information;
  • violation of third-party rights;
  • improper use of communication channels;
  • or actions that violate applicable laws and regulations.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the International Criminal Law Foundation accepts no liability for direct or indirect damages arising from:

  • the submission;
  • processing;
  • evaluation;
  • delay;
  • or resolution of complaints.
